Michael Rotondo - Chief Executive Officer, Tropical Smoothie Cafe A proven leader and 20-year veteran of the restaurant industry, Michael Rotondo is the Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta-based Tropical Smoothie Cafe, a rapidly-growing national franchise known for its healthy food with a tropical twist. Rotondo joined Tropical Smoothie Cafe in 2008 as Vice President of Operations. In 2010, he became Chief Operating Officer and by 2012, he was named Chief Executive Officer. Armed with a track record of positive results, Rotondo is responsible for leading the brands ongoing expansion, strategic vision and overall franchise performance. A true foodie at heart, Rotondo has led the creation and execution of successful, innovative menu items, including a value product line of flatbreads that contributed to 50 percent growth of the chains sandwich sales. Most recently, Rotondo developed a new kale and spinach smoothie known as Island Green, which currently holds the title as the No. 1 smoothie on the menu and represents a total of 5.5 percent of the brands total sales. Throughout his career, Rotondo has held key operations and sales leadership positions for brands such as Wendys International, HoneyBaked Ham, Arbys Restaurant Group and Great Wraps. Rotondo currently resides in Atlanta, Ga. with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children.
