The Hungry Howies story began in 1973 when Jim Hearn converted a 1,000 square foot hamburger shop in Taylor, Michigan into a successful carry-out and delivery pizzeria. At the time, Steve Jackson delivered pizzas for Hearn. Over the years, their partnership would evolve into what Hungry Howies is today. In 1982, Jackson and Hearn made a decision to franchise their operation. In January 1983, they awarded their first Hungry Howies franchise. Within the next three years, 65 franchises were opened within the Hungry Howies system. The company ended the 1980s with over 160 units. Hungry Howies opened its 300th location in 1995, and 400th in 1999. In 2004, Hungry Howies was awarded Chain of the Year by Pizza Today magazine and opened their 500th location in 2005. Jackson strongly believes that meeting the highest quality standards is vital to the success Hungry Howies enjoys today. Through the Jackson and Hearn leadership, Hungry Howies has emerged as a major competitor in the pizza marketplace and consistently ranks in the top 10 of the nations largest pizza franchises.

Matthew Loney, CEO & President of Stevi Bs Pizza Buffet Matt recently joined the ranks of young CEOs looking to make their mark on the Atlanta restaurant franchise sector. Often times, an industry welcomes a fresh perspective on strategy and operations, and at just 36 years old, Loney has plenty to offer. An impressive resume backs his aspirations. In 2003, he graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law and quickly found himself in the world of fast dining. After a short time as vice president of the distinguished Mellow Mushroom Pizza chain, Loney claimed his current title of president and CEO of Stevi Bs Pizza. He now looks to further the growth of the neighborhood pizza buffet. Stevi Bs Pizza currently commands a strong presence in the Georgia region with 27 locations in the state including 10 locations in the Atlanta DMA. The rapid expansion of the brand is made possible, in part, by the private equity group Argonne, which is the exclusive franchisor of southern favorite Krystal, the largest franchisee of IHOP and an Applebees franchisee of 100 units. A seasoned player in restaurant franchising, Argonne seeks to expand Stevi Bs into key markets throughout Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.
